The TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in School) mission is to increase both the number of Computer science courses offered in our high schools and the number of students in those classes.
During the 2017/18 school year in GA, TEALS was in nine schools in the Metro Atlanta region. We are excited that in the upcoming 2018/19 school year there will be 18 participating schools in the Metro Atlanta region! Which is where you come in. One thing that comes along with growth in a program like TEALS is the increased need for volunteers. This coming year we are expanding especially in the South Metro area and have a greater need in these schools. There are volunteer opportunities for the following classes:
Forest Park High School Forest Park
Lovejoy High School Hampton
Mundy's Mill High School Jonesboro
North Clayton High School College Park
Cedar Grove High School Ellenwood
DeKalb High School of Technology - South Decatur
Sandy Creek High School Tyrone
South Atlanta High School Atlanta
The ideal volunteer is:
Part of an organization that does not farm out their IT, or is an IT company (computer science focused)
Willing to be a part of a team of two to four that will rotate and co-teach first period of every day for the entire school year
