Dannie James | short Professional Bio
Retired Lieutenant Colonial Dannie E. James Sr. serves as President of JE Group LLC (JE Group). He is a graduate of Livingstone College with a Bachelor Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. He’s a proud graduate of the Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia. Mr. James holds the highest level of government contracting certification as a DAWIA Level III Contracting Officer from the Defense Acquisition University (specializing in Acquisition and Procurement). He is considered by many a Federal Government Procurement strategist and expert. Dannie has held executive leadership management positions such as Lead Contingency Contracting Officer and Directorate of Contracting.
With 22 years of military experience, Dannie has served as a Senior NCO and Senior Staff Officer. During his time in the military, he was selected to serve as the Director of Contracting for 3rd Army Central Command (Forward) located in Saudi Arabia and other Directorate positions within the US Army Acquisition and Procurement Field. Mr. James also served with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in Huntsville, Alabama where he managed the Quality Assurance Program of an Acquisition Category 1 program. He supervised the complete oversight of the production of the Interim Armor Vehicle (Stryker), a contract that was valued over $6 billion dollars. Dannie ensured proper auditing, sampling, inspecting, and process proofing of the production process and testing/accepting the Interim Armor Vehicle (Stryker).
After retiring from the military, Mr. James established the JE Group LLC, a company that specializes in government contract consulting services. With JE Group’s success, Dannie founded Government Business CoachSultants, LLC. (GBC originally founded in 2008). GBC focuses on the full life cycle of understanding how to proactively position and market businesses successfully in the Federal Government market (using Dannie’s proprietary “10 Step Methodology”). GBC was formed to service Business-to Business consulting demand. The JE Group transitioned to provide Business-to-Government services. After years of experience in the federal market, Mr. James analyzed who, what, when, where and how to enter and be a success in federal contracting. He leveraged relationships by interviewing to assess and evaluate his unique methodology concentrating more on the “HOW TO and WHAT IS REQUIRED”. Mr. James is world renown for effective procurement and acquisition processes and methodologies incorporated into the business model. These processes should be standardized and supported for the success of the organization.
With over 25 years of government acquisition and procurement experience and relentless passion to help corporations succeed in the federal market, Mr. James is one of the most sought after consultants and guest speakers in the federal industry. Since March, 2011 Mr. James has visited Afghanistan 12 times and served as the Ambassador for the International Consortium Alliance | Afghanistan American Alliance while acting as the US Federal Government Contracting expert. Mr. James has also interviewed, trained and counseled over 500 firms during several visits to Afghanistan and the UAE to identify interest, resource readiness to participate in the ICA | Afghanistan American Alliance. Mr. James is now focusing his efforts on pursuing domestic and international federal government contracts through strategic partnership alliance relationship under JE Group LLC his SDVOSB.
