What Do We Do?Advocacy for Business InterestsThe Chamber provides leadership in articulating business viewpoints in the public arena, and is intent on being the region’s primary source of information on business issues. We are the voice of business in Clayton County. Economic DevelopmentThe Chamber works with Clayton County's Department of Economic Development and various municipalities. The Clayton County Chamber of Commerce originated and served as host of the Clayton Summit, an economic development gathering of economic development public and private individuals where information is shared and future plans unveiled. Membership DevelopmentThe Chamber is continually working to retain and expand our relationship with a substantial share of the businesses in our service area. Services and Programs for Our MembersThe Chamber strives to be the leading organization in delivering programs and services that fill the needs of business and contribute to measurable growth for our members. Programs provided through the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce include highly qualified individuals. Networking OpportunitiesThere is no better place to network in Clayton County than through the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce. No other organization provides the high volume of individuals of which to network. Networking opportunities are provided through a number of events including our Early Bird Breakfasts, Business to Business Luncheons, Business and Social Hours (BASH), Women in Business Council Luncheons, Roundtables and other networking events. Promote InclusivenessThe Chamber is always looking for ways to expand the level and quality of member involvement in our activities to both reflect the diversity of our membership and to allow members the opportunity to become engaged in their community. Business AttractionThe Chamber offers assistance to existing small businesses through our Small Business Development Group. This group offers ongoing monthly educational and networking opportunities for small business. Business Retention and ExpansionThe Chamber is facilitating the implementation of the Business Retention and Expansion Group. The purpose of the BRE is to help retain current businesses, make them stronger, and to assist in expansion of those businesses. Studies indicate that 80% of new jobs come from existing businesses. Leadership TrainingThe Chamber identifies and prepares citizens for responsible public decision making and volunteer service in order to create positive change for the region. The primary mechanism for this is through both Leadership Clayton (adults) and Clayton Youth Leadership (teens). |
