Annual Women in Business Event
The last Annual Women in Business Luncheon was held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Georgia International Convention Center (2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park). The luncheon's keynote speaker was Monica Pearson, News Anchor of WSB-TV Channel 2 News. She is the first African-American and the first woman to become News Anchor in the Atlanta market, and has been in that position since 1975. She has held the same job position at the same station longer than any other television personality in Atlanta. She is well known for her occasional TV specials, which feature in-depth interviews with nationally known celebrities and world leaders. Additionally, the 2009 Business Woman of the Year Award was presented. Chamber members can purchase an exhibit table at these events. Estimated attendance: 250+
