DESCRIPTION:The Clayton County Board of Commissioners allocates $1 million for disbursement by the Development Authority of Clayton County to small businesses and non-profit organizations impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Funds for the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act\, issued through the U.S. Department of Treasury\, will be used to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. $800\,000 in CARES funds will be disbursed to eligible businesses. $200\,000 will be disbursed to non-profit organizations. \n\n"We understand that our communities and businesses have suffered unforeseen losses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic\," said Chief Operating Officer Detrick Stanford. "Through the efforts of the Board of Commissioners and the Development Authority of Clayton County\, we are positioned to assist these businesses and organizations in their time of need and the recovery process." \n\nBusinesses and Non-Profits can apply for relief funds online December 28\, 2020\, - January 8\, 2021.
